backupreview.info is a cool site, if you have a PC. there is no mention of mac backup software (besides mozy). it would be really nice if you guys made a Mac section.

Well, I have 1mb upload, so it should take around 3 months.

The difference between crashplan (which i do recall seeing at mac expo) is that crashplan is more for off-site to another computer you own.

With Mozy, it’s their servers for UNLIMITED storage at $5/month. The same service with Crashplan (and Crashplan Central – Crashplan’s servers) would be over $845 per year (!!!) for the amount of data I’m backing up!

I am interested in the “seed” – what’s that all about?

Try CrashPlan – http://www.crashplan.com – you can backup your data off-site for no monthly fees, and because you can “seed” your backup – you can do it in a few days instead of months.

By the way, average upstream is around 500kps, so at that rate, you’d bebacking up for 6.5 months!

The math on 6.5 months!
