    To Brian,

    Thanks for the info.

I actually did all of those things you suggested for Firefox, but still can’t seem to get things right, however, I have upgraded my download speed today, so I think this may help. If not then I am not sure what to do.

Anyway, another question if I may? I know it’s not directly linked to transmission, but it is to do with torrent files, and more specifically converting them.

As I use a mac it seems quite difficult to find a decent freeware /shareware application that can convert avi to dvd.

Do you know of any that can do this for mac, that are both reasonably easy and quick to use?

    Thanks
    Simon.

Visual Hub used to be the app, but it’s discontinued. Try Toast: http://www.roxio.com/

    Hi Brian Cometa,

You’ve done a marvelous job in this Transmission tutorial. Which version of Transmission did you use for the above mentioned tutorial?

    Happy Holidays!!

hi guys, i have followed all the steps but when accessing my dlink wireless routers config page and following the steps provided my private ip address is already filled in apart from the last number, it is filled by my routers ip, not my laptops. any help would be greatly appreciated as i really want to see the green light!!!

hi ademgim, not sure what you mean exactly. you may want to re-read some stuff. you say your private ip is already filled in — where? also, if a four sets of numbers aren’t the same, it’s not the same address. most routers are 192.168.1.1… while your computer will be something like 192.168.1.3 — that’s the one you need the torrent port forward to.
    hope this helps

Hi Brian I’m a newbie. I use Transmission. Would you please be so kind as how to download .torrents?

  10. December 3rd, 2008 at 16:50 | #10

yes, read this or just go back up to “searching for torrents.” once .torrent file is downloaded, double click or drag into transmission’s dock icon.
